DNPA Update: Week of 8/1

GRADUATION!

Congratulations to the Duck's Nest class of 2016!!  We wish you all the best as you approach Kindergarten! Thank you to the kids and parents that have been a part of our DNPA community.  We will miss you!!

THIS WEEK: Performance Thursday morning, August 4th - SoVoSoSo

SoVoSó (derivation - "from the Soul to the Voice to the Song") is a highly imaginative a cappella ensemble. Zoe Ellis, a former Duck's Nest parent, has been a long time member of the group. The children will most likely be split into two groups for the performance. Ducklings are currently slated for 10:00am in the Duckling Room. The other classrooms will join together in the Bike Yard for the second performance, most likely beginning around 10:45-ish.

Parents, grandparents and kids who do not generally attend school on Thursdays are more than welcome to attend during the respective performance times! (We will send out an update if timing looks like it might drastically change).

A huge thank you to Emily Potts for organizing the DNPA Performance Series for the 2015-16 school year!  We have been incredibly lucky to have so many wonderful performances at our school.

REMINDER: Friday, August 5th End of Year Picnic!

It's a great way to end the school year and catch up with everyone! The picnic is from 5:30 to 7pm in the school yard. Please rsvp and sign up below for potluck items and ways to help!

End of the Year Teacher Appreciation Gifts

A parent from each of the classrooms will be in touch via email about donating to the end of the year teacher appreciation gift.  This is a monetary gift that is made up of both parent and DNPA contributions.  Please consider donating any amount that is comfortable for your family.  This year we will be using square to collect donations.  We hope this makes it easier for you to donate as well as simplifies the process for the room parents.

The DNPA budget

The budget for the upcoming school year will be reviewed during the 2016-17 DNPA kickoff meeting in the fall. Our goal is to work with the parent community to determine the budget for next year.  We want your input and hope that you join us! More details to come after summer holidays.

Thank You!

Thank you again to the Duck's Nest community for your on going support of the DNPA.  We've enjoyed working with you all this past school year and we appreciate all of the volunteer hours that you have given to the DNPA.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Cheers,
the DNPA
